14 - 1/2 tsp salt
→ Veggie Sticks
15 - 2 large carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
16 - 1 cucumber, cut into sticks
17 - 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
18 - 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced into strips
19 - 1 cup cherry tomatoes (approx. 100 g)
# Steps:
01 - In a food processor, blend tahini and fresh lemon juice for 1 minute until creamy.
02 - Incorporate olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, and sea salt; process for 30 seconds.
03 - Add chickpeas and blend for 1 minute. Scrape down sides, add 2 tablespoons cold water and blend until smooth and fluffy. Add additional water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
04 - Taste and adjust salt or lemon juice as preferred. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and optionally garnish with paprika or sesame seeds.
05 - Combine instant dry yeast and sugar in warm water; let rest for 5 minutes until frothy.
06 - Add flour, salt, and olive oil to yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
07 - Knead on a floured surface for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth.
08 - Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and allow to rise in a warm location for 1 hour.
09 - Preheat oven to 475°F. Place a baking stone or tray inside to heat. Punch down dough and divide into six equal balls. Roll each ball into a 1/4-inch thick circle.
10 - Place dough circles on the preheated baking surface and bake for 3 to 4 minutes until puffy and lightly golden.
11 - Cover freshly baked pitas with a clean kitchen towel to maintain softness.
12 - Wash and cut carrots, cucumber, and bell peppers into sticks; arrange alongside cherry tomatoes on a serving platter.
13 - Place hummus in a bowl, surround with warm pita wedges and prepared veggie sticks for serving.
